Forum: GratefulDead Subject: 1978 Anniversary (non-Dead) New Englander's know..!

Speaking of 1978...

We hearty New Englanders should remember today's anniversary.

The BLIZZARD of '78 began today, and lasted two days straight..!!

Any memories?? Mine... No school for TWO WEEKS.

I have tried to compare every snowstorm since 1978, to the Blizzard... The comparison is disappointing... But that does not stop me from trying to compare.

I told my son about it this morning. Told him that there were 10-12 foot drifts, taller than I was... His eyes completely lit up..!!

I think we caught some of this down on Long Island - I seem to recall some serious snow days way back when.
